Rocky Mountain Ranch Dance is just around the corner…and we couldn’t be more excited to welcome you!Congratulations! You are registered for the Rocky Mountain Ranch Dance, Friday, Jan 17-Monday, Jan 20, 2020. You may
arrive any time after 3:00 p.m. Friday. Dinner is at 6:15. The dance starts at 7:30. We end with lunch on Monday, Jan 20. In between there will be plenty of live music, dancing, workshops, and food. The weekend is at the Adventure Unlimited camp near Buena Vista, Colorado. See map below.
Rides—To get a ride or give a ride, let us know at the email address below. In particular we need to give our national band and caller—3 people total—rides to DIA leaving the dance around noon on Monday.
Arrival—It’s easiest to arrive before dark! First park temporarily just outside Valerie Lodge. Signs and people will direct you. Come inside Valerie Lodge for your room assignment, a map of the camp, and schedule of events.
Weather & roads–the Colorado Dept of Transportation (CDOT) says roads and passes to the camp are almost always open even when there is snow. The camp will clear its own roads.
Snacks—you signed up to bring snacks when you registered for the dance. Be sure to bring them! If you don’t recall what you signed up for, use the email address below.
Raffle–Declutter your home, clean your closet of gently-used dance clothes and shoes. Suggestions are arts & crafts, gift baskets (especially chocolate), musical instruments, or ridiculous gifts you have received. The raffle is a great money-maker for the future of the dance, and it depends upon your stuff! And, where else can you get the treasure-of-the-century for the price of a raffle ticket.
Bring a little cash—onsite, you’ll want to buy raffle tickets and maybe a pound or two of fabulous coffee from the local Buena Vista Roastery.
“Worker bee” activities–Everyone can expect to sign up for a 1-hour “give back to the community” activity. (Or you can buy your way out with $25 cash.) The great news is that we will NOT be washing dishes! (We have paid help.)
Bedding & Towels–Bring your own bedding and towels unless you signed up for them when you registered. Don’t forget your toiletries.
Clothes and gear—bring winter coat and boots, indoor shoes for the dining area, outdoor winter sports equipment if you’re so inclined.
Connectivity–The camp can have limited connectivity for phones and computers.
Sorry, no pets or intoxicants.
We need to hear from you–Please respond back to this email so we know that we’re communicating with you!
Photos–Keep in mind that we’d love to get photos you’d like to share with us for our website. We will remind you–but in the meantime you can make a note that we will be accepting photos at info@rockymountainranchdance.com.
